ZiNIT is a customized biocompatible prosthetic medical implant for the treatment of the early stages of arthritic and damaged joints. It is designed to prevent advancement of the destructive disease process. ZiNIT is designed to protect rather than replace cartilage and bone with artificial materials, thus promoting natural repair and spontaneous healing in a protected environment. It is intended to function much as an adhesive bandage (plater) would for a skin injury. This approach of protection and promotion of healing will offer patients a new option to traditional destructive surgical treatment or that of long-term pain relief medications and disability.
